What we do
KLGU is the umbrella organisation for women’s golf in Kenya.
KLGU’s responsibilities include supporting ladies sections in affiliated clubs, organizing open ladies events and coordinating the annual calendar for open club tournaments. The winners of the open tournaments compete for the prestigious KLGU Golfer of the Year (GOTY) trophy, which is aimed at promoting ladies’ golf in all parts of the country.
KLGU also participates in and hosts continental and regional tournaments including AACT, G&P and E&CARCT. The Union also assists KGU in running the Kenya Open Golf Championship. At KLGU, we have not forgotten the less fortunate and from funds raised, the Union supports disadvantaged girls through secondary school education as part of our CSR.
The KLGU is a Co-Founder of the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) and contributes three of the seven members of the JGF Board of Trustees. KLGU also has representation in the Kenya Unified Handicapping Committee (KUHC) to represent the interests of lady golfers.
